Content Module     Sundays
This is a letter sent to the Tuscaloosa News regarding the issue of the ban of alcohol sales on Sundays.  The letter was printed almost in its entirety.

After we have lifted the ban on alcohol sales on Sundays, what’s next? It’s such an inconsequential thing. Are we to give in to the “legalize marijuana” crowd? Perhaps we should legalize all drugs; wouldn’t that reduce crime? If there was no law against drugs then wouldn’t crime and misery decrease? Oh, we definitely should legalize pedophilia, because Judith Levine says it’s OK. Next, we will remove the speed limit. Forcing people to spend more time on those dangerous roads is just asking for disaster. The less time people spend on the road the better. The law is such a stifling thing, perhaps we should ban the legal system altogether. Or, better yet, let’s just forfeit our freedom of thought and give control over everything to the government.

For those of you on this “freedom from religion” trip, you’ve got a good point. This alcohol restriction is an unfair endorsement of religion by government. The 9th Circuit Court has just declared the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional for that very reason. And by this same mentality, the Declaration of Independence and our nation’s Constitution are, likewise, unconstitutional. Since few of us have even read the Constitution, I encourage you to read just the last Article (that’s Article VII, and it’s short). There you will see “Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven....” This specific reference to “of our Lord” is a government endorsement of Christianity. What do we do now? Ban the Constitution?

Where do we draw the line? I know, we’ll ban all religious expression, since that is the “religiously neutral” thing to do. We can start today by shipping off Jews and Christians to prison camps; they are such troublemakers anyway. Wait, that sounds so familiar.
